Founded in 2001, Saint Louis University Rowing team has brought the sport of crew to experienced rowers and beginners: anyone with a curiosity for the sport is welcome. In fact, the founder of crew at SLU had not rowed before she founded the rowing club.  Since 2001, we have practiced on Creve Coeur Lake, along the racing course of the 1904 World Olympic Games. SLU Crew is based around one concept: dedication. We are dedicated to our institution, our sport, our teammates, ourselves. At SLU Crew the dedication expressed by its members transcends the head races in the fall or the sprints in the spring--the dedication becomes an element of cohesion and a family is created.  SLU Crew prides itself on its close bond between teammates because it allows us to have the success we have previously achieved. Although a historically a small crew, we are not afraid of competition against larger and older crews. Though SLU Crew is a competitive organization and one that has seen great success in the past, we do not solely measure our achievement in the medals we obtain; instead, we measure our accomplishments in the passion we maintain for the sport of rowing and in the dedication to our teammates.
